It is a direct acknowledgment that the blanket statement repeated for decades was not evidence-based. ​What the CDC Now States Clearly These are the CDC’s own words, taken directly from their updated page: “The claim ‘vaccines do not cause autism’ is not an evidence-based claim because studies have not ruled out the possibility that infant vaccines cause autism.” “Studies supporting a link have been ignored by health authorities.” “Scientific studies have not ruled out the possibility that infant vaccines contribute to the development of autism.” The prior CDC statement violated the Data Quality Act, and the agency is now correcting it. There are no studies showing that any of the 20 doses of the seven infant vaccines—DTaP, HepB, Hib, IPV, PCV, rotavirus, influenza—do not cause autism.
