The Fresh Face of Stalinism: Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez
March 28, 2019
The 29-year-old “Democratic socialist” has used her popularity in the mainstream media to move Democratic Party further down to socialism. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez ran on the same platform as Vladimir Lenin, Joseph Stalin and Mao Zedong.
Her program of the socialist revolution in the United States is named the Green New Deal and uses the threat of the presumed “climate change” as the valid reason for a complete socialist takeover of the U.S. economy. “A Green New Deal will require the following: … providing and leveraging, in a way that ensures that the public receives appropriate ownership stakes and returns on investment, adequate capital (including through community grants, public banks, and other public financing), technical expertise, supporting policies, and other forms of assistance to communities, organizations, Federal, State, and local government agencies, and businesses working on the Green New Deal mobilization.” It is obvious that the public receiving “appropriate ownership stakes” is an acknowledgement that the government will own the means of production what is socialism. All promises and talking points of the Green New Deal can be found in the Manifesto of the Communist Party and the Soviet Union’s “Stalin’s Constitution”. It includes the government-guaranteed medical care, housing, education and the “right to work”. She goes even farther to guarantee jobs for everyone “unable or unwilling to work”. Stalin dealt with the “unwilling” differently, – they would be shot on the spot. Only after his death Soviet socialists “mellowed” and would “only” deport the “unwilling” to the forced labor camps in Siberia.

It is striving to crash capitalism and establish a Soviet type economic and political controls. There is nothing “democratic” about it. Following their Marxist leaders, they “believe that the workers and consumers who are affected by economic institutions should own and control them. Social ownership could take many forms, such as worker-owned cooperatives or publicly owned enterprises managed by workers and consumer representatives… While the large concentrations of capital in industries such as energy and steel may necessitate some form of state ownership, many consumer-goods industries might be best run as cooperatives.”
It is the abolition of private property that the Democratic Socialists of America care all about. They follow the Marxist Manifesto of the Communist Party (1848) and Soviet Constitutions of 1936 and 1977 from which they have picked up these points. Policies based on these documents resulted in mass murder of over 150 million people, endemic starvation, concentration camps, poverty and suffering.
The Green New Deal supported by It seeks to solve the climate crisis by combining quick action to get to net- zero greenhouse gas emissions and 100% renewable energy by 2030 along with an “Economic Bill of Rights” – the right to single-payer healthcare, a guaranteed job at a living wage, affordable housing and free college education.
The “right to health”, which became the slogan of the Democratic Party, was first declared by the Soviet Union with the promise of the universal “cradle-to-grave” healthcare coverage. The proclaimed advantages of this system were that it would “reduce costs” and eliminate the “waste” that stemmed from “unnecessary duplication and parallelism” — i.e., competition which can be eliminated by the government takeover of medicine.” Ocasio-Cortez’s platform goes even further guaranteeing “full vision, dental, and mental healthcare.” Ocasio-Cortez “believes that housing is a human right”, that there is the “right to tuition-free higher education”. Ocasio-Cortez states that “It’s now time to expand our national education system to include tuition-free public college and trade school.” She excelled in inventing more and more rights that the unwilling to work citizens and non-citizens can present against the property of those in our society who are still willing to work.
Promises of the free stuff never worked, whether in the ancient Rome, Soviet Russia, Cuba, Vietnam, North Korea or Venezuela.
Marxist-Leninist program could “work” only when coupled with the mass murder practiced by the Soviet Union, China, and socialist puppet regimes of the Eastern Europe, Asia and Africa. Estimated 150 to 200 million of people were murdered, starved to death, humiliated and ridiculed. Socialist experiment led to the greatest waste of humans in history.
Now Democrats under the “fresh new” leadership of Comrades Ocasio-Cortez, Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren and the likes are striving to implement the Marxist-Leninist vision here.
The only lesson of history is that it teaches us nothing, especially if taught in our public schools and universities.
Ocasio-Cortez is attractive and well-spoken individual, but so were Trotsky, Lenin, Stalin, Trotsky, Mao Zedong, Ho Chi Minh, Che Guevara and Fidel at her age. All of them disguised their insatiable lust for power by “altruistic idealism” and when they have fooled enough “grey masses” and “useful idiots” to get the power, they all became the worst mass serial killers as the logic of these ideas demanded them to.
Ocasio-Cortez is an orthodox Marxist eschatologist but her Doomsday is all about the “climate change”: the sky is falling, we are losing the “carbon war”, and we’re all going to die in 12 years! Sounds primitive but is pretty effective as a propaganda soundbite presenting the issue of climate change as a “generational” issue.
She is very well aware that young people are almost universally brainwashed by our public “education” and would be receptive to the climate hysteria. “Millennials and people, you know, Gen Z and all these folks that will come after us are looking up and we’re like: ‘The world is going to end in 12 years if we don’t address climate change and your biggest issue is how are we going to pay for it?'” Ocasio-Cortez said. The “Democratic Socialist” (another modern oxymoron – you are either believe in democracy or socialism – these are mutually exclusive) said the fight against climate change is war and that it’s “our World War II.” Ocasio-Cortez declared at a campaign fundraiser there was “no debate” that fossil fuel production should be stopped. “There’s no debate as to whether we should continue producing fossil fuels. There’s no debate”. In a speech on her economic plan, Ocasio-Cortez likened combating climate change to the challenge posed by Nazi Germany in World War II, surmising the United States confront the issue with the same amount of resources: “So we talk about existential threats, the last time we had a really major existential threat to this country was around World War II, and so we’ve been here before and we have a blueprint of doing this before,” Ocasio-Cortez said, adding: What we had was an existential threat in the context of a war. We had a direct existential threat with another nation, this time it was Nazi Germany, and the Axis, who explicitly made the United States as an enemy, as an enemy. And what we did was that we chose to mobilize our entire economy and industrialized our entire economy and we put hundreds if not millions of people to work in defending our shores and defending this country. We have to do the same thing in order to get us to 100 percent renewable energy, and that’s just the truth of it.” Man, Economy, and Stat... I am surprised how many free market economists are criticizing Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez platform as too expensive and detrimental to economic growth! Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez spent her first few weeks on Capitol Hill calling for a 70% top marginal income-tax rate, and suddenly the debate over optimal rates has reopened. To support her charge, Democrats advocate confiscatory upper-range tax rates. Almost any economist (Keynesians included) would agree that taxes have detrimental long-term effects on growth. Others are trying to calculate the cost of her “package” and it comes to some absurd number of more than $32.6 trillion over 10 years, requiring historically unheard tax hikes. When asked how she would pay for the “Medicare for All” proposal, Ocasio-Cortez responded, “You just pay for it.” She continued: “People often say, how are you going to pay for it? And I find the question so puzzling because, how do you pay for something that’s more affordable? How do you pay for cheaper rent? How do you pay for—you just pay for it.”
“Capitalist” costs do not matter anything to a socialist: it is like telling Hitler that he did not have enough funds for the Holocaust, or Stalin that Gulag is not efficient in the long run! Ocasio-Cortez is a socialist fanatic and she heard what happened when Marxist ideas that she shares were implemented. No, she knows what she wants and very well – it is unlimited power and all the power of coercion that she can get. Cost does not matter to her – it is not monetary – it is the amount of human suffering, of lives and property destroyed.
Ocasio-Cortez, like an orthodox Leninist, repeats old canards about exploitation: “Unemployment is low because everyone has two jobs…” said Ocasio-Cortez – “Unemployment is low because people are working 60, 70, 80 hours a week and can barely feed their kids.” Ocasio-Cortez continued to argue the days of capitalism are numbered: “And so I do think that right now we have this no-holds-barred, Wild West hyper-capitalism. What that means is profit at any cost. Capitalism has not always existed in the world, and it will not always exist in the world. When this country started, we were not a capitalist [nation], we did not operate on a capitalist economy”. She falsely claimed that the “upper-middle class doesn’t exist anymore,” while the upper-middle class is actually growing at the unprecedented pace in the US history. She said that “I think that politically, this upper-middle class is probably more moderate, but that upper-middle class doesn’t exist anymore in America, and thanks to the continued deregulation of Wall Street, thanks to the continued gutting of working- and middle-class people, we need stronger champions”.
We live in a society in which there are an awful lot of people who have no idea that Stalin, Hitler, Mao Zedong, Fidel Castro and Hugo Chavez came to power promising exactly the same kind of things that Ms. Ocasio-Cortez is promising. And it led to public slavery, mass murder, starvation and destruction. Because of our pro-socialist educational system most Americans aren’t aware of some of the ghastlier episodes of history. For example, two-thirds of millennials don’t know what happened at Auschwitz, even less heard about Holodomor, dreadful Soviet Gulag and killing fields of China and Cambodia.
A manifestation of the anti-capitalist mentality in today’s America is the fact that Democratic Party is on the way to become a “standard” socialist party. Today Most Democrats have a higher opinion of socialism than they do of capitalism. So are many college students and other millennials infected with class and race hatred and ready to follow their newly reincarnated Che Guevara – young and charismatic Stalinist Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.
