Last
month, the director of the FDA's vaccine regulatory division, Dr. Vinay
Prasad, sent an internal memo proposing reforms to the FDA's vaccine
approval process. He called for a cessation to the practice of using antibody levels as a surrogate measure of immunity, suggesting vaccine effectiveness should actually be a measured endpoint of clinical trials. He
also called for inclusion of populations for which the vaccine is
recommended to be included in randomized controlled trials, specifically
referring to the routine exclusion of pregnant women. The mainstream medical establishment gnashed their teeth at Prasad's memo. In my latest blog post, I show how the objections to the FDA doing science by apologists for existing vaccine policies reveal their faith-based approach. might object to my calling it "the vaccine religion" on the grounds
this betrays a lack of journalistic objectivity. But the way I see it,
that's the objective truth of the matter, and it's all those who refuse
to see it for what it is who lack objectivity. I just call it like I see it and have this nasty habit of supporting my perspective with facts and logic. If
