June 18, 2025: The United States military is ideally supposed to be a meritocracy. Meritocracy is when an individual or a group of individuals achieve positions of power based on their abilities, expertise, and results achieved alone. One’s military rank is not supposed to be based on gender, race, age, or even years enlisted. Command and rank are supposed to be based on performance. That being said, you can’t just walk into the offices of the US Army with zero years of enlisted experience and demand that you be sworn in as a Lieutenant Colonel or Brigadier General because you’re a tech exec broligarch. Right? Well, not anymore. The US Army just swore in tech executives from Palantir, Meta (Facebook), and OpenAi as Lieutenant Colonels. Share US Army Announces Detachment 201 In a recent press release, the army announced, “Detachment 201: The Army’s Executive Innovation Corps, a new initiative designed to fuse cutting-edge tech expertise with military innovation. “On June 13, 2025, the Army will officially swear in four tech leaders… “By bringing private-sector know-how into uniform, Det. 201 is supercharging efforts like the Army Transformation Initiative, which aims to make the force leaner, smarter, and more lethal. The four new Army Reserve Lt. Cols. are; Shyam Sankar, Chief Technology Officer for Palantir; Andrew Bosworth, Chief Technology Officer of Meta; Kevin Weil, Chief Product Officer of OpenAI; and Bob McGrew, advisor at Thinking Machines Lab and former Chief Research Officer for OpenAI.” At Palantir’s annual 2025 Ai Platform Conference (AIPCon) for customers, CEO Alex Karp proclaimed; “I am super proud of our stuff on the battlefield. And what we do to protect our soldiers, to protect the data, to prevent abuses of the data, to prevent people from using that data to weaponize it. AND- to kill our enemies. And scare them because they know they will be killed. That’s my agenda. Doesn’t have to be yours, but the single biggest thing that will make this country dominant and get rid of the parts of the country that are not meritocratic. And are whining about things they don’t understand. Is to make industry (Ai) in this country look like venture did and give venture returns to growth.” In other words, provide huge returns on investments to venture capitalists, hedge fund managers, and customers (including the US government and military) who invest in Ai technologies that will apply military-like merits to all parts of American society, not just the military. Is Palantir Planning on Terrorizing America into Meritocracy? What about those Americans who refuse to go along with the new technocratic meritocracy? A technocracy in which humans will be replaced with Ai, just like what is happening in the US military. What is Palantir’s plan for us? During Palantir’s May 5, 2025, investor call, CEO Alex Karp asserted; “Where you have pressure testing, you can assume Ai Foundry, Ontology, Apollo, and the Palantir culture itself. We are a warrior culture. Like that’s why our whole culture is built around putting the exact right team and the exact right product at the final mile. So, where you have environments that are crucial and under pressure, you can expect -where meritocracy happens. It’s like, ‘We need meritocracy.’ How do you get meritocracy?
