NVIC Issues National Press Release
On Feb. 25, 2019, NVIC issued a referenced national
press release urging Americans to attend state and
federal public hearings and to communicate concerns directly with their
elected officials. NVIC made the following points: (1) protecting
vaccine exemptions is a parental rights and civil
liberty issue; (2) vaccine laws are state laws and federal officials
threatening government intervention if state legislators do not restrict
or eliminate vaccine exemptions is federal interference in state
rights; (3) few people qualify for medical vaccine
exemptions; (4) in 2011 the U.S. Supreme Court effectively removed all
liability for injuries and deaths caused by FDA licensed and state
mandated vaccines; (5) Congress should hold oversight hearings on the
1986 National Childhood Vaccine Injury Act that
has been seriously compromised by amendments and federal agency rule
making; (6) incentivizing grants are given to states by the CDC to
achieve high vaccination rates; and (7) there are many new vaccines
coming that will be federally recommended and state
mandated.
