It was terrifying. His face basically swelled up like twice the normal size. When you’ve held your
daughter in your arms, almost dying, because of something as basic as milk. Every three minutes, a food allergy reaction sends someone to the emergency room. It’s like navigating a mine field at all times. The statistics are alarming. The U.S. Centers for Disease Control report that from 1997 to 2011 the number of children with food allergies increased 50 percent. Over 15 million Americans suffer from food allergies at a cost of $25 billion each year.
