Election Day Fluoridation Results

Kennebunk, MaineResidents in seven towns collectively voted to end fluoridation in the Kennebunk, Kennebunkport & Wells (KKW) Water District in a definitive 66% to 34% vote.  At 7AM on November 9th, the district shut off its fluoridation equipment, officially ending the practice.
We congratulate the residents of these towns, and the campaigners that made this possible.  We applaud the members of The Campaign to Reconsider Water Fluoridation, a small group of dedicated residents who brought their concerns to the water district, gained the district's support and assistance, collected enough petition signatures to get the issue on the ballot, and worked hard to educate their neighbors and build community support prior to the vote in many effective and creative ways.  We also applaud the members of the KKW Water District, especially Norm Labbe, who did a tremendous job educating the community and providing the facts necessary for an informed vote, as can be seen in this important video.
Below is a portion of the victory statement from Janice Hanson, chairperson of the Campaign to Reconsider Water Fluoridation:

…We understand fluoridation is an issue that requires a deeper examination of what we've been told in the past, and we are grateful to the people of these communities for their careful study and critical thinking that brought us to this moment. This result is a solid indicator that people are thinking critically about fluoridation.
Voters joined us and the Kennebunk Kennebunkport & Wells Water District in our commitment to freedom of choice in what we ingest into our bodies. They joined us in our belief that delivering medical treatment through the water supply without an accurate dosage methodology and informed consent is contrary to the very foundation of our country's civil liberties and safety protocols.
Along with our gratitude to the voters, we extend our deepest appreciation to the Kennebunk Kennebunkport & Wells Water District, its Superintendent Norm Labbe, its Board of Trustees and each KKWWD employee for their honorable and ethical stewardship of our area's most important natural resource - our drinking water supply...

...Today I think of those people who signed our petition with the hope of ending fluoridation to regain their health. I hope today's vote puts an end to their worries. Our children, our pets, our loved ones and our environment all benefit from today's vote. I raise my glass of clean water to my community, and honor its good sense. May today set a precedent that spreads throughout our beautiful state of Maine."
Healdsburg, California –Unfortunetely, residents did not approve Measure T, which would have required the city council to suspend fluoridation if the manufacturer supplying the fluoridation chemicals could not provide an accurate list of contaminants in each batch, toxicological data on the additive, and a written statement verifying the chemical’s safety for ingestion by all water consumers.  The final vote was 41% in favor, and 59% opposed.
We applaud the campaigners from Safe Water Healdsburg and Clean Water Sonoma-Marin for their incredible effort, integrity, and dedication, and for their success in educating thousands of residents and overturning a city council attempt to mislead voters.
Here is the statement on the results from Safe Water Healdsburg

Many thanks to all of you who supported Measure T and who worked on it so selflessly. Those efforts on behalf of our community continue to have a ripple effect that extends beyond today's horizon.

According to the Press Democrat the morning after Election Day, returns show Healdsburg voters rejecting Measure T by 59 to 41 percent, and in the process, rejecting the opportunity to learn if the sodium fluoride in their water is actually safe for everyone who drinks it.

Contrary to misrepresentations in the press, and by opposition leaders, Measure T was not for or against fluoridation to reduce tooth decay. Measure T was only about the safety of the specific fluoridation chemical used in Healdsburg. That safety is still our concern.  To learn more, please visit
Safe Water Healdsburg.

We're STILL asking . . . Is our water safe for every BODY who drinks it?
Two New Radio Interviews With Paul Connett

FAN senior advisor and co-author of The Case Against Fluoride, Paul Connett, PhD was recently interviewed on the Jesse Mulligan show on Radio New Zealand (RNZ).  The interview focused on the
television commercial created by Fluoride Free New Zealand, which factually explains the origins of fluoridation chemicals.  The ad was recently approved by the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA), which stated that the ad had "fact-based statements, backed up with evidence...[and] did not conflate opinion and fact," and therefore can be aired throughout the country.  During this interview Paul references a study and error by Sir Peter Gluckman that you can learn more about here.
Connett was also a guest on the We Are Change show on AM1680 in California.  He provides a great overview of why fluoridation must end immediately.
