13 Years After Iraq: Chemical Terrorism Now Reality, Jihadists Have Warfare Agents

21st Century Wire says…Instead of relying on doctored reports, ‘sexing up‘ and fraudulent intelligence, we now have real evidence of Middle Eastern jihadists possessing chemical weapons.
Watch a video of this report here:
Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has stated that ISIS jihadists have “toxic industrial chemicals,” which can be used to produce “proper chemical warfare agents”.
Lavrox said that ISIS is ‘acquiring access to scientific and technical documentation for the production of chemical weapons, and seizing equipment needed for such production’.
The Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons has just reported that Mustard Gas has been used by ISIS in Iraq.
Instead of storming off on a “you’re with us or the terrorists” style of crusade, Lavrov instead argued for greater international cooperation on the fight against terrorism:
“It leaves no room for doubt that chemical terrorism is now turning from an abstract threat to a harsh reality, which can and should be stopped by intensifying serious work at an international level.”
“A realistic, reliable and promising means of tackling this problem is to develop a separate convention for battling the acts of chemical terrorism.”
13 years ago in the run towards the Iraq War, the British and American governments could not get anywhere near to the level of certainty about the threat from chemical weapons as Russia has been able to achieve here.
It will, then, be interesting to see how the West responds to Russia’s call for cooperation, and not crusade, in the face of chemical terrorism.
Of course, it should also be noted that despite Russian fears, it may be beyond the capabilities of ISIS to deploy chemical weapons outside of their immediate area of operations; particularly after their string of recents defeats.
Also worthy of mention, and somewhat of a silver lining, is the understanding presented here is that ISIS is only capable of producing chemical weapons, not biological or radiological weapons, which could have far worse long-term impacts upon their usage.
Do you think the West will work with Russia to tackle the threat of real chemical terror?
