reports that soda is the most commonly consumed beverage among American children and that soft drink consumption is up 500% over the last 50 years. U.S. consumption has skyrocketed to over 600 12-ounce servings per person per year, and climbing. The nation's top soft drink manufacturer's stated goal is to jump sales by 25% annually. Aspartame is sold as an additive, but it's a deadly excitoneurotoxic carcinogenic drug that interacts with other drugs and vaccines. Sweet, International Honor At New York's Mt. Sinai School of Medicine, Dr. Morando Soffritti was honored with the rather rare Irving J Selikoff Award for outstanding contributions to the identification of environmental and industrial carcinogens, and his promotion of independent scientific research. The prestigious Selikoff Award is only granted for groundbreaking cancer research. It was created 1993 by the Collegium Ramazzini, an academy of 180 internationally renowned experts in occupational and environmental health from over 30 nations. It has been awarded just twice before being presented to Dr. Soffritti. Soffritti's Conclusion His study forced the conclusion that aspartame is a multipotential carcinogen. Cancers aspartame produced included leukemia, lymphoma, kidney, and cranial peripheral nerves among others. Only the rats fed aspartame got malignant brain tumors. This prodigious work was peer-reviewed by 7 world experts. This work confirmed studies presented to the FDA 25 years ago that documented a catalogue of brain, uterine, ovarian, testicular, mammary, pancreatic and thyroid tumors. www.wnho.net/whopper.htm Low Doses Matter Soffritti's new study "Lifespan Exposure to Low Doses of Aspartame Beginning During Prenatal Life Increases Cancer Effects in Rats" focused on damage from low-dosage aspartame consumption over the long term and clearly demonstrated a great danger to unborn babies and children. Newly identified is risk of breast cancer as the aspartame-using child matures. Exposures were at low doses. A 20 kg (45 pound) child drinking 2 cans of diet soda a day brings into his body 400 mg. of aspartame. Politics In Motion Based on the evidence, FDA denied aspartame for 16 years from the time it was discovered. However, when Donald Rumsfeld, then CEO of NutraSweet's parent, G.D. Searle Co., went to Washington as newly elected Reagan Secretary of Defense, the existing FDA Commissioner was asked to resign and aspartame was approved by successor Arthur Hull Hayes, appointed by President Reagan. Hayes approved aspartame over the objections of the FDA's scientific Board of Inquiry who had revoked the petition to approve it previously. President Reagan had written an executive order making the FDA powerless to do anything about aspartame until Hayes assumed his position. Now the once floundering Searle became profitable. The FDA had full knowledge of aspartame's toxicity, and the approval of this deadly carcinogen sentenced millions to disability and death. "Reagan Quit Using Sweeteners" —Atlanta Journal Constitution, 9/25/85. The year was l985, and there were two congressional hearings over the outrage about the public being poisoned with aspartame. In this article it states: "President Reagan says he quit using artificial sweeteners because 'we don't know what is in them...' " Unfortunately, it was too late for the public as the U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia ruled in favor of NutraSweet, even though it was known that the FDA had asked for the indictment of Searle, and had revoked their petition for approval. EXPERTS CONFIRM THE DANGER: Dr. Philip Landrigan, Chairman of Community and Environmental Medicine at Mt. Sinai Medical Center, says Dr. Soffritti's study on rats strongly implies human risk. He advises parents of young children to think very very carefully about giving drinks and other aspartame-contaminated foods to children. He advocates federal action be taken to review regulation of aspartame and that the chemical be submitted for precise critical investigation. (See two letters Dr. Gross addressed to Senator Howard Metzenbaum, and the memo that triggered a request for indictment of Searle for fraudulent submissions: http:// www.dorway.com/gross.txt) Dr. Louis Elsas M.D., practices internal medicine, clinical genetics, clinical biochemical genetics and clinical molecular genetics in Miami, FL. He testified to Congress in l985 that aspartame is a teratogen, and can trigger birth defects and mental retardation. Atty. James Turner, author of the Chemical Feast and the Nader Report on Food Protection at FDA, explains: "Since l974 FDA and the Searle Drug Company have known that aspartame causes brain tumors in animals. In 1980 the public has known the Public Board of Inquiry affirmed the Searle studies showed cancer in animals and ruled that it should not be used in the food supply. It is past time [for] the FDA [to] invoke the Delaney Clause and remove NutraSweet from the market. In July of 2005 further studies (Ramazzini) underscored the cancer causing capability of NutraSweet/ aspartame in animals." Walton, M.D. of Safe Harbor Behavioral Health, Erie, PA, emphasizes: "Dr. Soffritti's two outstanding studies on the multipotential carcinogenic effects of aspartame add significantly to the ever- growing body of evidence on the hazards of this artificial sweetener. The FDA's stubborn adherence to their original, and controversial, approval of aspartame is unconscionable. The public must be informed that the approvals, both in this country and Europe, are based on highly questionable industry-funded research, or, in the case of recently issued statements on aspartame's supposed safety, on a questionnaire which in no way represents legitimate research. Independent research, such as the recent Soffritti studies invariably demonstrates the extremely hazardous nature of this product." www.safeharborbh.org Dr. H. J. Roberts, M.D., FACP, FCCP, author of several texts on aspartame disease commented: "The elegant studies by Dr. Morando Soffritti and his colleagues, coupled with other recent related publications, reinforce my longstanding opinion that aspartame products represent carcinogens -- or co-carcinogens -- for several major tumors in humans, especially involving the brain. The details appear in my text, Aspartame Disease: An Ignored Epidemic, and in my article, Does Aspartame Cause Human Brain Cancer? The latter indicated that aspartame or its metabolites "might activate one or more oncogenes that potentate or initiate cell mitosis, either by direct or indirect effects. The failure of the FDA to acknowledge and act on the ongoing revelations over the last two decades about the hazards of aspartame products in a number of realms, especially when taken by children and pregnant women, remains a source of professional embarrassment. This chemical constitutes an imminent public health hazard. I congratulate Dr. Soffritti for independently underscoring this warning." Neurosurgeon Dr. Russell Blaylock, M.D. remarked on Dr. Soffritti's first study: "The study released in the European Journal of oncology by Morando Soffritti and co-workers should terrify mothers and all those consuming aspartame sweetened products. This was a carefully done study, which clearly demonstrated a statistically significant increase in several types of lymphomas and leukemias in rats. Both of these malignancies have increased significantly in this country since the widespread use of aspartame. The type of damage was a duplicate of that associated with cancers. Along with this most recent study, this means that drinking a single diet cola sweetened with [aspartame puts a person at risk of] developing a lymphoma or leukemia. They also found an increased incidence of malignant brain tumors, even though it was not statistically significant. This does not mean there is no association to brain tumors, since only the animals exposed to aspartame developed the tumors. With children and pregnant women drinking the largest amount of diet colas, this puts their children at the greatest risk of developing one of these horrible diseases. Their study found that even low doses of aspartame could cause these malignancies; [and] the higher the dose, the more cancers that were seen. Since aspartame can increase obesity and may even cause the Metabolic Syndrome that affects 48 million Americans, there is no reason to ever consume this product. When the Ramazzini 2005 study was released, the government and aspartame manufacturers were responsible for a coverup. They found an old AARP survey sent to a million American seniors ten years prior: 16 pages with 56 questions. It asked: How high did you go in school? Had a hysterectomy? Do you eat brownies? Oatmeal? Margarine? Question #25 asked "Over the last 12 months when you drank coffee or tea, what kind of sweetener did you regularly add?" There were 6 multiple-choice answers, one of which was: Equal or aspartame. This 10 year old 3-word selection ("Equal or Aspartame") instantaneously converted the questionnaire into the biggest aspartame propaganda study in history. Naturally, it showed no problems at all! (None were asked about, of course!) Through saturating the news with press releases, this propaganda spread planetwide in major magazines and other media. Europe's FDA & the Universal Court of Justice Dr. Soffritti's work was presented to the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA). The EFSA risk assessment has been criticized from the beginning because of conflicts of interest among the panel members, particularly the Chair, Susan Barlow, an industry consultant. They rejected Dr. Soffritti's study with the excuse that [such] cancers were caused by inflammatory lung infections. Eminent researchers and scientists know that respiratory infection is a factor in the dying process and never took their excuse as noteworthy. Besides, Ramazzini's control rats had a much lower incidence of cancers than the aspartame-fed rats. Critics of EFSA's risk assessment said that if the cancers were caused by inflammatory lung disease then the control group would have had as many cancers as the rats that were fed the aspartame. (Right?) EFSA didn't apologize, so they were reported to the Universal Court of Justice. As a result, EFSA's Dr. Koeter admitted the industry pressured them to hijack science. After a study sponsored by Food Standards in the UK showed these additives cause behavioral problems in children, large food chains there began the removal of aspartame from their products. We don't have to wait for the FDA to do what we have the right and power to do right now. Bill Henderson, here. I want you to brace yourselves. You may find this
hard to swallow, no pun intended, but after coaching over 3,500 people
with cancer, here's what I know:
FACT 1) The most common cause of all cancers is root canal-filled teeth; and FACT 2) Until a cancer patient gets rid of the root canal-filled teeth, they may experience temporary recovery, but nine times out of ten, will not be able to live cancer-free for the rest of their lives. When I first started learning about this disease I would not have guessed it. But now I believe you can take these two facts to the bank. So, why is this the first time you’ve heard about this? Unless you’ve been reading what I’ve written, heard my radio show or talked to me on the phone, this is news to you. And I’ll tell you why. Doctors know nothing about this. I’ve asked each of the 3,500 cancer patients I’ve talked to on the phone the same question: “Has your cancer doctor ever talked to you about your dental history?” The answer, every time, is “No.” But even more significant, 99.5% of dentists are ignorant of the two facts above about cancer and root canals… or, they are “in denial” about it, like their dental professional societies, because of the fear of liability. Only a small cadre of dentists operate “under the radar...” ...in the U.S., due to the persecution their brave compadres have suffered at the hands of the dental societies and State Dental Boards. I know of just 36 or so of these wonderfully qualified and brave dentists scattered throughout the U.S. Their names have been given to me by cancer survivors who have taken my advice and addressed their root canal problems. These ladies and gentlemen dentists are competent to help you. There are about 10 or so others worldwide who are capable of dealing with this problem. This number of 46 or so dentists is out of the 160,000 dentists and 7,400 endodontists (root canal specialists) in the U.S. alone. Let me explain why I feel this issue is Priority One if you have cancer. The "Gutta Percha" When the nerve and pulp of the tooth is removed by the procedure known as a root canal, it's replaced with an inert substance – usually the rubber-like “gutta percha.” The dentist attempts to sterilize the tooth before the gutta percha is inserted in the “root canal.” The object is to cut off the normal circulation of bacteria through the tooth and make it permanently sterile.Unfortunately, this never works. Sterilization? Impossible. I say “attempts to sterilize the tooth” because it has been proven that this is impossible. The tooth becomes a dead piece of bone in the jaw. The bacteria which were in the millions of tiny “tubules” in the dentin of the tooth (the portion between the enamel and the root canal) mutate into “anaerobic” bacteria. These are bacteria which do not require oxygen. Every root canal-filled tooth has them. No exceptions. They occur because of the structure of the root canal filling. It is impossible to eliminate them and they are 1,000 times more toxic than any other bacteria. In fact, the toxins they put out in the form of a gas called “thio-ethers,” can easily migrate through the enamel of the tooth and down through the roots into the bloodstream.These toxins travel throughout the body, as do many of the bacteria themselves. These are responsible for most chronic degenerative conditions… not just cancer, but rheumatoid arthritis, heart disease, multiple sclerosis, lupus, ALS, diabetes… you name it. Clean blood, clean body Eliminating thio-ethers in your blood will clean up untold body conditions. So if every root canal-filled tooth contains these toxic gases without exception, I cannot help but wonder: could a revolution in dental care be the answer to cancer worldwide... and most every other degenerative disease known to man? The evidence of what I’ve told you above is overwhelming. What do experts say? Dr. Weston Price: the root canal and "focal infection." Beginning in 1903, Dr. Price led a study by 60 prominent dentists. Their mission was to find a safe way to perform a root canal filling. In 1923, they submitted their 1,174 pages of research to the American Dental Association (ADA). The team’s conclusion: there is no safe way to do a root canal filling. Why, you ask, are 50 million of these done every year in the U.S. 87 years later? And why are they done exactly the same way they were in Dr. Price’s time?Well, it is mind boggling, but I’ll tell you. A key assumption of Dr. Weston Price’s team was something called “focal infection.” This just means that an infection somewhere in your body (your mouth, for example) can affect organs distant from it. This concept is taught in all medical schools now and has been for many years. At the time, however, it was controversial. The conservative heads of the ADA rejected Dr. Price’s team’s conclusions because they did not believe in the “focal infection” concept. You’ll find Dr. Price’s research summarized in a book called “Root Canal Cover-Up” by Dr. George Meinig, D.D.S., F.A.C.D.Here’s what Dr. Hal Huggins (see below) says about Dr. Weston Price’s research: “Dr. Weston Price and Mayo’s Clinic of 1910 to 1920 described finding bacterial growth in root canals that could be transferred into animals and create the same diseases the donor human had in from 80 to 100% of the animals. Heart disease, in particular, could be transferred 100% of the time. His research has since been suppressed by the various Dental Associations in the United States.” Dr. George Meinig: root canal-filled teeth are deadly.Dr. Meinig passed away in 2008. He was a prominent endodontist (root canal specialist). After he retired in 1993 from 50 years of practice, he discovered Dr. Price’s 1923 research report. He was horrified when he considered the thousands of people whose health he had ruined in his 50 years of practice by doing root canal fillings. As a “mea culpa,” Dr. Meinig wrote the “Root Canal Cover-Up” and spent the last 15 years of his life trying to get his message out to people about how deadly root canal-filled teeth are. Dr. Hal Huggins, D.D.S: the heart disease connection. Dr. Huggins has discovered 82 different types of unique anaerobic bacteria which originate only in the mouth. Autopsies of people who died of “heart disease” have found 30 of these types of bacteria in the hearts of these people. They could have originated only in the mouth! From 1994 through 2000, Dr. Huggins with Dr. Thomas Levy, a cardiologist M.D., attempted to replicate the research done by Dr. Price but with more sophisticated testing techniques. Dr. Levy told me in 2007 when I interviewed him on my web talk radio show, that he and Dr. Huggins had studied “over 5,000” recently removed root canal-filled teeth. Every one of them was taken to the lab and tested. Dr. Levy said that every single one had toxins coming out of it “more toxic than botulism.” Dr. Huggins has trained about 80 dentists on the protocol that should be used to “clean up your jaw.” He told me that he refers people to only six of them. The rest of them apparently don’t follow his protocol rigidly enough. You can contact Dr. Huggins’ office in Colorado (MST) at (719) 522-0566. You will find several articles by Dr. Huggins on the subject of root canals and other dental toxins at http://www.terfinfo.com. Dr. Josef Issels, M.D: clean up the jaw before cancer treatment. For 40 years, from 1947 until his retirement in 1987, this famous German doctor treated thousands of cancer patients. He is credited with being a “world renowned pioneer of integrative cancer treatment.” In 1993, he called Dr. Hal Huggins. In his broken English, Dr. Issels complimented Dr. Huggins for “picking up the torch” and trying to get the message about dental toxins to more people. Dr. Issels said that in his 40 years of treating cancer patients, 97% of them had root canal-filled teeth.Dr. Issels insisted that they get these teeth removed before he began their cancer treatment. Dr. Thomas Rau, M.D: the breast cancer link. Dr. Rau is the head of the Paracelsus Cancer Clinic in Switzerland. This clinic has been one of Europe’s most prominent cancer treatment centers since 1957. For some 20 years, they have had, as part of their intake procedure for new patients, review of their jaws by the dental section of the clinic. Any root canal fillings are removed before any cancer treatment is started. In 2004, Dr. Rau became curious about the prevalence of root canal-filled teeth in his clinic’s breast cancer patients. He examined the records of the last 150 women who had been admitted to his clinic. He found that 147 of them (98.5%) had one or more root canal-filled teeth on the same meridian (Chinese meridian system) as the original breast cancer tumor. The other three had other dental toxin problems. Dr. Robert Kulacz, D.D.S: significant disease and the Dentist's chair... Dr. Kulacz is (was) a prominent dentist in New York. In 2002, Dr. Kulacz, along with Dr. Thomas Levy M.D., published a great book called “The Roots of Disease: Connecting Dentistry and Medicine,” available on Amazon.com. It is the best book I’ve found on the subject of root canals and other dental toxins. Dr. Kulacz describes in detail the many people whose health he restored by freeing them of their dental toxin problems. The primary theme of the book is stated in the Introduction: “It is our opinion that the evidence clearly shows that many, if not most, significant diseases get their start in the dentist’s chair.” Well, you can imagine how popular Dr. Kulacz became with the conventional dental community after this book was published! He was harassed and threatened to the point that he was forced to change his name and take his family underground. He abandoned his dental practice and took up another profession. (My advise: Get the book.) Dr. Dawn Ewing, N.D: root canals, the taxidermy of the mouth. Dr. Ewing is the Executive Director of the International Academy of Biological Dentistry and Medicine (IABDM). For a list of the practitioners who belong to IABDM near you, go to their website, http://www.IABDM.org. Dr. Ewing describes the root canal filling with an analogy. She says that if a surgeon took your smashed finger, cleaned out all the flesh and bone in it and stuffed it with straw, it would be a similarly ridiculous procedure to stuffing gutta percha in a dead piece of tooth bone in your jaw.
