With just one week until Congress is set to certify President-Elect Joe Biden's election on January 6, President Trump continues to tweet about a planned pro-Trump protest scheduled for the same day.

On an almost daily basis, the president has continued to tweet baseless conspiracy theories about widespread election fraud as the only possible reason he could have lost the election.

The National Park Service confirmed to ABC7 that the group Women for America First has submitted a permit application for a protest on Freedom Plaza. NPS said the group plans to set up on Jan. 5 and clean up the day after the event.

The is the same group behind the 'Million MAGA March' that took place on November 14 and then again on December 12.

Both protests were mostly peaceful during the day, but then violence broke-out after both marches as demonstrators for and against President Trump clashed at Black Lives Matter Plaza and various parts of the city.

Unrest unfolds in DC following a day of pro-Trump rallies

Senator Josh Hawley (R-Mo.) has already said that he plans to raise objections next week when Congress meets to affirm Biden's victory. This could cause a delay but reportedly won't alter the final certification of Biden's win.

The Hotel Harrington in downtown DC announced this week that they will be closing on the dates of the pro-Trump rally and will issue refunds for any reservations booked.

Harry's had served as a gathering spot for President Trump's base during previous demonstrations and several stabbings happened in the area of Harry's Restaurant at 11th and E Streets, NW, on the evening of Dec. 12.
