Over
the past six months, Canadian communities have been under siege by the
pro-fluoridation lobby in a coordinated effort to return the harmful
additive to the drinking water of residents
in Calgary, Windsor, LaSalle, Tecumseh, and beyond.
Part of their strategy has been to draft inaccurate and misleading oral health reports to influence decision-makers. One
such report was recently presented in Windsor, Ontario by the
Windsor-Essex County Health Unit (WECHU). This deeply flawed report has
been gaining media attention and may be swaying a number of
decision-makers.
In
response, a team of canadian organizers and professionals have drafted a
comprehensive rebuttal to this report, and plan to present it to
councilors in Windsor, Tecumseh, and LaSalle.
But they need your help to maximize its influence. If we can stifle
the pro-fluoridation lobby's attempts to pass off propaganda as science
in this case, we may be able to prevent similar attempts from
materializing in the future, while also ensuring Canada
doesn't reverse its current trend of ending fluoridation rather than
starting it.
The
rebuttal letter already already has a strong list of signatores,
including Paul Connett, PhD, Hardy Limeback, DDS, PhD, and Robert
Dickson, MD, CCFP, FCFP, among other great signers.
However, with each additional name the rebuttal gains influence.
