   Once, a long time ago, I spoke before the District 3 School Board in Manhattan to plead  that it not retain a private lawyer when all the legal work a school district is legitimately  entitled to is provided free by the city's corporation counsel. In spite of this, the district  had allocated $10,000 to retain a Brooklyn law firm. This is standard technique with  boards everywhere which seek legal advice to get rid of their "enemies." They either  prefer to conceal this from the corporation counsel or fear such work might be rejected as  illegitimate. One school board member had already consulted with these same attorneys  on five separate occasions pursuing some private vendetta, then submitting bills for  payment against the school funds of the district. Sometimes this is simply a way to toss a  tip to friends.

Opinion | If I am mandated to receive a COVID-19 vaccine in order to keep my job, and subsequently experience an adverse event, who is responsible? Who is responsible if I have neurological complications, a heart attack, or a stroke and am never able to work again. Who is responsible if I die?

Correct me if I’m wrong, but I’ve read that neither the vaccine companies, the government entities imposing the mandates, nor the employers themselves will be held responsible in any way if the worst happens. In fact, from what I’ve seen and read so far, it will take a Herculean effort to prove that my adverse reaction was caused by the vaccine. Correlation does not equal causation, they say. A heart-breaking MSN news report takes us inside the Children’s Hospital New Orleans to learn that a growing number of kids who are short of breath and for whom there are no emergency-use vaccines, are suffering incessantly.  It’s not just COVID-19 lung infections, but potentially life-threating respiratory syncytial virus that can cause some of the same symptoms, says the news report.  Parents sleep chairs by their child’s hospital bed in fear they are on the edge of death.

One of the main rationales for why some U.S. health officials are referring to COVID-19 as a “pandemic of the unvaccinated” is the claim that 97 percent of Americans who have been hospitalized  with symptoms of the illness are unvaccinated. During a White House press briefing on July 16, 2021, the director of the U.S Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Rochelle Walensky, MD, said that unvaccinated people account for more than 97 percent of hospitalizations in the United States.¹

Predictably, the 97 percent figure has been picked up by media outlets and medical associations around the country and cited as proof that this is a “pandemic of the unvaccinated.”^{2 3 4 5 6} How can one argue with such evidence? I mean, numbers don’t lie, do they? Particularly when they are provided by an authoritative source like the director of the CDC.

The horrific Kabul suicide bombing introduces an extra vector in an already incandescent situation: It aims to prove, to Afghans and to the outside world, that the nascent Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan is incapable of securing the capital.

As it stands, at least 103 people – 90 Afghans (including at least 28 Taliban) and 13 American servicemen – were killed and at least 1,300 injured, according to the Afghan Health Ministry.

Pfizer CEO Albert Bourla on Tuesday told Fox News the company believes a COVID vaccine-resistant variant will likely one day emerge, but the company has a system in place to turn around a variant-specific jab within 95 days if it does.

“Every time a variant appears in the world, our scientists are getting their hands around it,” Bourla said. “And they are researching to see if this variant can escape the protection of our vaccine.”

Bourla said Pfizer hasn’t identified any variants that could escape the vaccine yet. However, that statement contradicts the findings of numerous studies by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) which show waning immunity against the Delta variant.

I have had two requests to withdraw from The Washington Assembly, apparently over a continuing misunderstanding that I wish to clear up for all Assemblies.

The Coordinators, both State and County, work for the Federation. They are not elected State or County officials, nor are they appointed by the State Assembly.

Their role is to assist and oversee the assembling process and serve as liaisons between the Federation and their State Assembly during this organizational process.

Once the Assemblies are fully functional, the Coordinators will be gone. As they work for the Federation, the Federation has the hiring and firing responsibility. We try to honor the wishes of the local folks, but there are occasions when we feel it would not be prudent to do so.
